Brent Kennedy has over 18 years of experience in the field of information security. Brent is currently the SVP, Deputy CISO, and Head of Information Security at PennyMac Loan Services, LLC. Prior to this, they served as the SVP, Sr. Cyber Program Manager at the same company. Before joining PennyMac, Brent worked at City National Bank as the Senior Vice President and Head of Cyber Security for four years. Brent also held a role at Sony Corporation of America as the Senior Manager of Vulnerability Management, where they led global programs and projects related to security capabilities and risk reduction. Additionally, Brent gained experience at the National Security Agency, where they held various technical leadership roles focusing on network exploitation. Brent Kennedy completed their education with a Master of Science degree in Information Assurance from Capitol Technology University in 2008-2009. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from the University of Maryland Global Campus from 2003-2006. In terms of certifications, Brent obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in April 2008. Brent further gained two Amazon Web Services (AWS) certifications — AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner in February 2023 and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate in March 2023.
