Derrek Michelson

Derrek Michelson is an accomplished executive in compliance and regulatory oversight, currently serving as Executive Vice President at PENNYMAC since July 2017. Michelson has held various roles at PENNYMAC, including Senior Vice President and First Vice President in Servicing Compliance. Prior to PENNYMAC, Michelson was the Senior Audit Manager and Director of Regulatory Compliance at MUFG in the Americas, responsible for enterprise-wide compliance audits. At American Advisors Group, Inc., Michelson served as Senior Director of Compliance, overseeing all regulatory compliance aspects. Michelson's background includes significant experience at Bank of America as Compliance Executive and Senior Vice President in Group Operations and Corporate Audit. Early career roles include Financial Analyst at Washington Mutual and Senior at Arthur Andersen. Michelson holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Pepperdine University.
