Kalea Haran

Principal at Penrhos College

Kalea Haran is the current Principal at Penrhos College. Prior to their current position, they served as the Head of Secondary School at the Australian International School from April 2012 to December 2020. Before that, they were with Harris Federation from September 2004 to June 2011, where they held the position of Assistant Principal. During their time with Harris Federation, they were responsible for the maintenance of academic standards, pastoral care, behaviour management, ICT development in teaching and learning, management of events, and overview of the development of 21st century skills across the Academy, among other things. Kalea also served as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Coordinator and was responsible for mentoring, coaching and teacher training. Prior to their time with Harris Federation, they were the Head of Business at Harris City Academy from September 2000 to September 2004.

Kalea Haran has a Doctor of Philosophy from Curtin University, a Master of Business Administration from Deakin University, a Master of Education from the University of South Australia, and a Bachelor of Education from the University of South Australia. Kalea also has certification from the Australian Institute of Company Directors in GAICD, certification from Yale University in The Science of Well-Being - Yale University on Coursera, certification from Knowledge Delivery Systems, Inc. in Differentiation and the Brain - Carol Ann Tomlinson, and certification from Gifted Education Research Resource and Information Centre (GERRIC), University of New South Wales in Mini Certificate of Gifted Education (Mini-COGE).
