Alfred Slager

Alfred Slager serves as a Professor of Institutional Investments at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam since September 2024 and has held various significant positions within the pension fund sector. Currently, Alfred Slager is the Chair of the Investment Committee and a Non-Executive Board Member at Pensioenfonds ABP, which manages over 550 billion euros for more than 3 million beneficiaries. Additional roles include membership in the Sustainable Pension Investments Lab, the Investment Committee of Pensioenfonds Rail & Openbaar Vervoer, and the Investment Committee for Stichting pensioenfonds SNS REAAL. Past positions have included Academic Director of TIAS/Netspar Pensioninnovation Masterclasses and membership on the Supervisory Board of Pensioenfonds PGB. Alfred Slager's education includes a PhD from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and participation in the High Performance Board Member Program at IESE Business School.
