Piero Cosme Velasco has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and tech industries. Piero is currently the CEO & Co-Founder of PEOPL, a digital oncology clinic in Mexico. Previously, they worked as a Fellow at Sigma Squared Society, a global community of young entrepreneurs aiming to create positive impact. Piero also held roles at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, where they managed import standards and developed work procedures, and at Roche, where they supported clinical trial operations. Additionally, Piero was the CEO & Solo-Founder of an IT project startup focused on closing the access gap for people with disabilities in medical devices. Piero also worked as a Research Assistant at UTEC, where they worked on virtual reality for motor rehabilitation and the development of high-performance prosthetic foot. Lastly, they served as an Academic Tutor at MAB Perú.
Piero Cosme Velasco has a Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Universidad de Ingeniería & Tecnología - UTEC, which they obtained from 2017 to 2021. In 2020, they also participated in an exchange program at Insper Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa, where they studied Business Administration and Management. Piero has obtained several certifications, including "Cleveland Clinic - UTEC Summit 2021," "Digital Transformation: How the use of Data, Agility and Technology is shaping the future of our business" from AUDI AG, "Introduction to Medical Image Processing" from Universidad Favaloro, and "Data Science Short-Course" from UTEC - Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología. Additionally, Piero Cosme Velasco completed an LF8 | Latitud Explore Fellowship in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies at Latitud, and they were part of the 2H22 Cohort of the Makers Fellowship.
