Concetta Ferguson

SVP at People Inc.

Concetta Ferguson is senior vice president at People Inc., a leading not-for-profit health and human services agency providing programs and services to more than 12,000 people with special needs, their families, and seniors throughout Western New York. With an operating budget of $143 million and nearly 4,000 employees, People Inc. has assisted individuals to achieve greater degrees of independence and productivity since 1971. She came to People Inc. first as a volunteer in October 1986 and later joined the organization as a part-time direct care employee. Ferguson grew her career through the agency, transitioning her way from an entry level position to senior vice president in 2016. As senior vice president, she is responsible for and provides oversight of community habilitation, tax credit housing, Life Quality Coaching, community-based programs, self-directed programs, environmental modifications and adaptive technology, new program development, advocacy, Early Intervention, admissions and health home care management. Her role helps provide nearly 3,000 people with opportunities for increased independence, community integration and participation.

Active in the local community, Ferguson and has held leadership roles in St. Paul’s Cathedral Vestry and the Elmwood Village Charter School Board, serving as treasurer and then as president in 2013. She is also a former member of the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus. She is currently an active board member and treasurer of City Honors Crew and serves on the grants and nomination committees for the City Honors Crew Board. She was named a Buffalo Business First Health Care Champion in 2016.

Ferguson received a master’s degree in professional leadership from St. Bonaventure University and a bachelor’s degree in social work from the State University College at Buffalo.
