Mike Marcacci

Senior Vice President of Engineering, Mike Marcacci was born in the heart of Silicon Valley, raised in Arizona, and first came to San Diego to attend college. At Point Loma Nazarene he studied biology and chemistry and even researched cutting-edge cancer treatments. At PeopleConnect, Mike’s focus is squarely on the systems and technology that make the products possible. He obsesses over the boundaries between each system and the conventions, terms, and concepts that influence the way he think about and work with the technology. Mike got his start in web development when he was just 12 years old while working for a small saltwater aquarium store in Scottsdale, AZ. To help promote the business, he built the company’s website using Yahoo Geocities. Frustrated by the limitations of the platform’s drag and drop tools, he taught himself HTML and CSS by reverse engineering sites he admired. Soon, he moved on to PHP and began developing his own dynamic websites and apps. He’s been working in the field one way or another ever since.
