Peoria Public Library
Jay Johnston is currently a Reference Assistant at Peoria Public Library. Prior to this role, Jay worked as a 5th Grade Teacher at Quest Charter School Academy. Jay has also held positions as a Bakery/Deli worker at Walmart, a Cashier at Vilt's Greenhouse, and a Student Worker at Eureka College Education Department. In addition, Jay has experience as a Summer Camp Counselor at Camp Kearney through South Side Mission. Jay holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Eureka College.

The Peoria Public Library, founded in 1880, is a tax-funded library system serving the city of Peoria, Illinois. A recent $28 million building program created a state-of-the-art library system including five completely renovated or newly-constructed library branch locations. A Bookmobile and Outreach Services provide services to those unable to go to a library location.
