Virginia Castillo Cano

Virginia Castillo Cano has a diverse work experience in the field of biochemistry and cancer research. Virginia started their career in 2008 as a predoctoral researcher at IBB UAB, where they focused on the Protein folding & Conformational diseases group until 2012. Virginia then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven for two years, from 2013 to 2015. During this time, they were involved in research at the VIB Switch Laboratory. In 2016, Virginia joined Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) as a protein scientist at the Mouse Models of Cancer Therapies Group, where they worked until 2019. Currently, they are employed at Peptomyc as a CMC Project Manager, a position they have held since July 2019.

Virginia Castillo Cano's education history is as follows:

From 2002 to 2005, they attended Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and earned a degree in Chemistry as part of the first cycle of studies leading to a B.S. Degree.

From 2005 to 2007, they continued their studies at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and completed the second cycle of studies leading to a Biochemistry Degree.

In 2007, they pursued a PhD in Biochemistry at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and completed it in 2012.

In 2007 and 2008, they also enrolled in an Official Master in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biomedicine at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

In 2018, they attended Vall d'Hebron Institute Oncology (VHIO) and completed a course on Scientific Communication: Getting Started Writing & Speaking.

In 2019, they participated in two separate courses. At PEGS Europe, they undertook a course on Advanced Analytical Technologies for Developability and Early Formulation Assessments. Additionally, they attended Lyotalk Europe and completed a course on Designing a Scientifically Based Formulation and Lyophilization Cycle Cycle development.

In 2020, they took an online course on Good Laboratory Practices at Iavante.

Most recently, in 2021, they completed a course on Pharmaceutical and Biotech Project Management at La Salle BCN.
