Sandro Bottaro

Principal Scientist, Computational Biophysics at Peptone

Dr. Sandro Bottaro has a background in theoretical physics and ten years of experience in the field of computational biology. His research focuses on developing physics-based molecular models of proteins and nucleic acids, and their integration with biophysical experiments.

During his scientific pilgrimages at different European research institutes, Sandro has learned how chemistry, bioinformatics, and machine learning can be effectively combined together to tackle fundamental biological problems.

This combination is ideally suited for characterizing disordered and flexible biomolecules such as IDPs, for which neither simulations nor experiments alone can currently provide atomic-detailed structural information.
