Eric Wood

Eric Wood is a highly experienced professional with a diverse background in the IT industry. Eric has worked in various roles for different companies throughout their career. Most recently, they joined Peregrine as a Solutions Engineer in 2022, where they are part of a team that provides cutting-edge tools for law enforcement. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Automated Regional Justice Information System (ARJIS) at the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) from 2021 to 2022. In this role, they led a team of technology professionals and oversaw the development and implementation of a private law enforcement network and data center infrastructure.

Before their time at SANDAG, Eric was employed by the City of Chula Vista, where they held two different positions. Firstly, they worked as the Chief Innovation Officer from 2020 to 2021, where they established IT standards and protocols within the Police Department. Secondly, they served as the Police Technology Manager from 2015 to 2020, overseeing the selection, implementation, and budgeting of technology investments.

Prior to their work at the City of Chula Vista, Eric held various roles at Microsoft from 2000 to 2015. Eric started as a Principal Consultant and transitioned to an Architect role within the Americas Center of Expertise team for Modern Client Solutions. In these positions, they developed new solution offerings, engaged with clients, and provided technical leadership in the field of Windows client solutions.

Earlier in their career, Eric worked for Phillips 66 as a Principal Consultant in 2011, focusing on consulting opportunities. Eric also served as a Principal Consultant at ExxonMobil from 2010 to 2011, leading a global office modernization project. Additionally, they worked for ConocoPhillips as a Principal Consultant in 2011, managing a team and assisting with the migration to a next-generation office environment.

Eric's career also includes roles at KBR as a Microsoft Senior Consultant from 2008 to 2009, EDS as a Microsoft Consultant from 2005 to 2007, and AIM Funds as a Microsoft Consultant from 2003 to 2005. At these companies, they contributed to various projects involving solution design, deployment, and migration to newer technology platforms.

Throughout their career, Eric has demonstrated expertise in information security, holding certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) and CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional). Their work experience showcases their strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and dedication to improving technology solutions in the law enforcement and corporate sectors.

Eric Wood obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California Coast University from 2017 to 2021. In addition to their degree, they have earned several certifications, including Azure Cloud Fundamentals from Microsoft in January 2022, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in May 2023, and Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) from (ISC)² in June 2022.
