John Baker

John Baker has a diverse and extensive work experience in the food and agribusiness sector. John has held various leadership roles in both strategic and investment management positions.

Their most recent role was as the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at Perfection Fresh Australia, starting in April 2023.

Prior to that, from September 2020 to April 2023, John worked as the Principal and Strategy Lead Asia at Equilibrium.

From 2016 to 2020, they served as the Director - Head Private Equity and also worked in Private Equity - Food and Agribusiness at State General Reserve Fund - Ministry of Finance.

John was the Chief Executive Officer of First Agriculture Holdings Pte Ltd from July 2012 to December 2015 and led the company's investments in food and agribusiness real estate, logistics, and processing assets in the Asia Pacific region.

John also has experience at Rabobank, where they held the role of Managing Director: Asia Head Food and Agribusiness Research and Advisory from October 2009 to July 2012.

Additionally, John has worked at Duxton Asset Management/Deutsche Asset Management as Vice President - Agri Investments from July 2008 to September 2009, and at Louis Dreyfus Commodities as Head of Mergers and Acquisitions - Asia from April 2006 to July 2008.

John began their career as an Agricultural Economist at AACo from March 1996 to April 1998 and later worked as an Associate Director at Macarthur Agribusiness from 1998 to 2002.
