Shane Bulick has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Shane started their career as a Snowboarding Instructor at Tussey Mountain Ski Corp from December 2003 to April 2010. Shane then served as an Enlisted Marine - Corporal (NCO) in the United States Marine Corps from January 2005 to January 2011.
Bulick pursued their education at Penn State University, where they obtained a B.S. degree in Physical & Environmental Geography. During their time at Penn State, they worked on nationally funded research projects in the field of ecology in San Salvador and South Africa. Shane also presented their research at the 97th Annual Ecological Society of America's conference in Portland, Oregon. Additionally, they served as a Field Researcher in a National Science Foundation grant focusing on soil surveys and carbon uptake storage assessments in nature reserves in Eastern Cape, South Africa.
Joining Oregon State University in 2011, Bulick worked as a NOAA/NASA Geovisualization Analyst from June to July 2011. Shane then joined Oregon Parks & Recreation Department as a Seasonal Park Ranger at Beverly Beach State Park from June to September 2013. In the same year, they worked as the StreamWebs Student Stewardship Program Coordinator at Oregon SeaGrant OSU Extension Services, where they collaborated with educators, students, and watershed councils in training seminars and field support sessions.
From October 2013 to December 2018, Bulick served as a Senior Residential Energy Auditor at CLEAResult, where they educated customers on energy consumption reduction and developed weatherization plans for improved energy efficiency in homes.
In December 2018, Bulick joined PSD as a QA Manager and later progressed to become a QA Weatherization Senior Field Manager in February 2021. Shane then became a Senior Manager – QA Division in July 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Director - QA Services at PSD. The specific end dates for their roles at PSD are not provided.
Shane Bulick has a strong educational background in both Geography and Marine Science. Shane obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Geography from Penn State University, where they studied from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they attended Northeastern University from 2007 to 2009 and earned a B.S. degree in Marine Science.
In addition to their formal education, Shane has also obtained several certifications related to quality control and energy auditing. In 2020, they obtained the certifications of Quality Control Inspector and Energy Auditor from the Building Performance Institute, Inc. These certifications reflect their expertise in ensuring quality and efficiency in building performance. Additionally, Shane has a certification as a BPI - Certified Residential Analyst, although the specific date of obtaining this certification is unknown.
