Alice Zou

Ontario Chapter President And Founder at PERIOD.

Alice Zou has a diverse work experience across various organizations and sectors. Alice started their career as a Line Chef at Lone Star Texas Grill in 2018. In 2019, they worked as a Cooperative Education Student- Assistant Recreational Therapist at Mackenzie Health, where they assisted in planning and leading activities for residents. Additionally, in 2019, they held roles as a SHSM Graphic Designer and SHSM President at Bayview Secondary School.

In 2020, Alice took on multiple roles. Alice served as a Student Researcher at Nexus Laboratories Inc., conducting research on Alzheimer's Disease using computer simulation models. Alice also founded and became the Ontario Chapter President of PERIOD, a nonprofit organization focused on ending period poverty and stigma.

Continuing their involvement in the healthcare field, Alice worked as a Pharmacy Assistant at Shoppers Drug Mart Specialty Health Network in 2022. Alice also served as a Research Assistant at London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), specifically working on an evidence-based review of acquired brain injury for older individuals in the CORRE Lab.

Alice's commitment to social impact is reflected in their involvement with MEDLIFE, an organization that partners with low-income communities to create sustainable change. Alice held various positions, including Vice President of Outreach and Vice President of Fundraising. Alice also served as the MEDLIFE Western First Year Representative and later as the MEDLIFE Bayview S.S. President. Additionally, they worked as the MEDLIFE Ontario Expansion Officer for the Aurora/Newmarket region, where they established chapters in multiple schools and led successful fundraising campaigns.

Lastly, Alice participated in the Royal Canadian Air Cadets program, where they held the positions of Level 1 Warrant Officer and Warrant Officer Second Class. Alice also served as a Debate IC and played an instrumental role in organizing events, supervising cadets, and teaching lessons.

Alice Zou attended Bayview Secondary School from 2017 to 2021. Alice did not pursue any specific degree or field of study during this time. After completing high school, Alice went on to Western University, where they began their Bachelor of MSc in Medical Science in 2021. Their education at Western University is expected to continue until 2025.
