Greeshma Venigalla

Greeshma Venigalla has a diverse range of work experience in the field of healthcare and education. Greeshma is currently working as a Research Assistant at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine's Desai Sethi Urology Institute. In addition, they are also serving as the Future Docs Program Coordinator at Madison Middle School, where they aim to introduce middle school students from historically underrepresented communities to the world of medicine through interactive and collaborative lesson plans.

In 2020, Greeshma held the position of UMiami Chapter President at PERIOD., where they and their team donated over 20,000 menstrual products to local shelters in under-resourced Miami neighborhoods. Greeshma was also part of an advocacy board focused on addressing menstrual inequities, racism in healthcare, and improving menstrual health education in K-12 schools.

Additionally, they served as the UMiami Co-Chair and Medical Brigades Chapter Leader at Global Brigades, Inc., leading medical brigades to rural communities in Panama to provide sustainable healthcare and health education. Through these brigades, they set up health clinics that served over 700 community members.

At the University of Miami, Greeshma held various roles, including serving as the Chair of the National Gandhi Day of Service Organization, President of Art of Healing, and Research Assistant at the Leblanc Lab. Greeshma also worked as a Science Made Sensible Science Educator at Booker T. Washington High School, leading the science curriculum for 9th and 10th graders.

Greeshma Venigalla's education history begins with their time at the International Baccalaureate at Bartow High School from 2014 to 2018. During this period, they earned their IB Diploma with a remarkable GPA of 4.84 out of 4.00 (weighted/unweighted) and was recognized as the Valedictorian.

Following their high school graduation, Greeshma attended the University of Miami from 2018 to 2022, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree. Their field of study encompassed Neuroscience and English, indicating their interest in understanding the workings of the brain as well as language and literature.

Continuing their academic journey, Greeshma enrolled in the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2022, from which they are expected to graduate in 2026. Greeshma is currently pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree, emphasizing their commitment to becoming a medical professional.

In addition to their formal education, Greeshma has obtained certification in CPR/First Aid from the American Red Cross in January 2023, showcasing their dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of others.
