Bashar Al-Nakhala has extensive work experience in various roles. Bashar is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Perkins School for the Blind since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at ALS Therapy Development Institute for more than 17 years, where they held positions such as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Information Technology. In these roles, they demonstrated expertise in overseeing daily operations, streamlining workflow, growing revenue and profit, and improving operational efficiency. Bashar also played a key role in developing informatics systems and reducing IT budget and outsourcing costs. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1998. Furthermore, Bashar Al-Nakhala earned another Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Software Engineering from the University of Washington in 1993. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner in 2021.
