Curtis Friesen

Curtis Friesen has extensive experience in health, safety, environment, and quality (SHEQ) and manufacturing management. Currently serving as the Global SHEQ Director of Manufacturing at ChampionX since March 2020, Friesen transitioned from the role of Plant Manager. Prior to ChampionX, a tenure at Nalco Champion, an Ecolab company, involved the position of Plant Manager from May 2016 to March 2020. Earlier, Friesen held various roles at Ensign Energy Services as GM of HSE and at Baker Hughes as HSE Manager, progressing from HSE Specialist to Production Manager. Friesen’s career began at Cargill as a Safety Coordinator and Lab Supervisor, and earlier experience includes working as a Technology Specialist at Entech Environmental. Educationally, Friesen holds a Certificate in Process Safety Practice from Texas A&M University, a Master of Science in Environmental Management from Royal Roads University, a Certificate in Environmental Technology from Mount Royal University, and a BSC in Cellular, Molecular Microbiology from the University of Calgary.
