James R. McDonald

James R. McDonald is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, currently serving as Senior Vice President of Investor Relations and Industry Affairs at SLB since July 2001. McDonald has held various leadership positions at SLB, including President of Americas Land, where a focus on innovation and sustainability tailored to customer needs was emphasized, and President of Well Services, significantly increasing profitability through strategic product line improvements. Earlier roles include Vice President Wireline, where cost reductions were implemented during a downturn, and Basin Manager, where efforts led to substantial profitability in the Mid-Continent region. In addition to SLB, McDonald holds board positions with Liberty Oilfield Services, Permian Strategic Partnership, and serves on committees with the American Petroleum Institute. McDonald earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
