Alex Lang is an accomplished professional with a robust background in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and perception systems. Currently serving as a Member of Technical Staff at Perplexity since July 2024, Alex focuses on advancing AI technologies. Previously, as Vice President of Technology at Unlearn.AI, Alex contributed to the use of Digital Twins in enhancing clinical trials. Experience at Cruise as Senior Manager of Perception involved leading teams in lidar detection and tracking for self-driving cars, while a tenure at Motional as Director of Perception and Prediction focused on transitioning to machine learning architectures. Earlier roles include being a Machine Learning Research Scientist at nuTonomy and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Salk Institute, applying machine learning in neuroscience.
