Mary Hungerford has extensive experience in the theatre industry. Mary began their career in 2017 as an Assistant Stage Manager for Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of "You Got Older" by Clare Barron, directed by Jonathan Barry. In 2018, they were the Stage Manager for Lookingglass Theatre Company's production of "20,000 Leagues Under the Seas" adapted by Althos Low (Steve Pickering) and directed by Lookingglass Ensemble Members David Kersnar and Heidi Stillman. Later that year, they were the Stage Manager for Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of "Familiar" by Danai Gurira, directed by Danya Taymor. In 2019, they were the Production Stage Manager for McCarter Theatre Center's production of "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein" written and directed by Lookingglass ensemble member David Catlin, and the Stage Manager for Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of "Dance Nation" by Clare Barron, directed by Lee Sunday Evans. Mary also worked as the Stage Manager for Lookingglass Theatre Company's production of "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein" written and directed by Lookingglass Ensemble Member David Catlin, and the Production Stage Manager for Chicago Shakespeare Theater's production of "Us/Them" written and directed by Carly Wijs. In 2020, they were the Operations Coordinator for Thrive Chicago, managing finance operations and spearheading culture and team building activities. Mary also worked as a Transcriber and Transcription Mentor for ProtestAccess, a volunteer collective that works to fill the critical gap in accessibility for social justice-related content on social media platforms. In 2021, Mary Hungerford began working as a Senior Project Manager and Project Manager for Perrett Laver.
Mary Hungerford attended Northwestern University from 2007 to 2011, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Theatre/Theater.
