Ms. Greer’s career in developmental disabilities spans 45 years beginning as a college intern at the former Willowbrook State School on Staten Island. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Special Education she continued as an Educator at Willowbrook until 1977 when she joined United Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State. As a Program Administrator, Claire worked to develop residential/day program alternatives and successfully transition over 500 people to the community. Throughout her 40-year career Claire held many executive level positions including Director of Professional Services, Director of Training and Evaluation and Vice President of Quality Management, Community Affairs and Support Services. Claire served on many statewide and local task forces and worked on projects and partnerships with agencies throughout New York State. Claire also served as the administrator of several federal and state grant projects including grants from the Department of Labor, New York City Transit Authority and OPWDD. Claire retired from UCP of NYS in 2016 but remains active in the field of developmental disabilities as a Consultant.
