Massimo Morra, MD PhD, FACMG, ASQ-CSQE has extensive work experience in various roles related to quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and clinical laboratory management. Massimo is currently serving as the Vice President of Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance, and Clinical Laboratories at Personalis, Inc. where they have been working since August 2021. Prior to this, they held multiple positions at Personalis, including Executive Medical & Clinical Laboratory Director and Head of Quality & Regulatory from April 2019 to August 2021, Head of Quality Assurance and Regulatory, Senior Medical and Clinical Laboratory Director from June 2016 to August 2021, and Medical and Clinical Laboratory Director from May 2014 to May 2016.

Before joining Personalis, Dr. Morra founded and served as the CEO and Principal Consultant at IntelleGene Genomics, LLC, a consulting company specializing in clinical molecular genetics and genomics, and molecular pathology solutions and services. Massimo provided consultancy on topics such as SWOT analyses, business strategic development, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.

Dr. Morra has also held positions as a Consultant at UF Health Pathology Laboratories from October 2013 to December 2013, and as a Member of the University of Miami Medical Group from September 2011 to September 2013. During their time at the University of Miami, they served as the Director of the Clinical Molecular Genetics Diagnostics Laboratory (CMGDL) and was involved in various research activities in the field of human genetics.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Morra worked as a Clinical Laboratory Director at LabCorp, where they focused on clinical molecular genetics. Massimo also held the role of Associate Medical Director (Acting Medical Director) at Correlagen Diagnostics.

Dr. Morra's academic background includes positions as an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School from November 2001 to May 2005, and as a Research Faculty at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center from November 2000 to May 2005. During this time, their research focused on human primary immune deficiencies, including gene cloning and characterization.

Overall, Dr. Morra has a strong background in clinical molecular genetics, genomics, and regulatory compliance, with extensive experience in laboratory management and quality assurance.

Dr. Massimo Morra received their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Università degli Studi di Torino in 1994. Massimo then pursued further education at the same university, specializing as a Resident in Clinical Pathology from 1995 to 2000. Following this, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Genetics-Immunology at the University of Amsterdam from 2000 to 2004. Massimo later attended Harvard Medical School from 2006 to 2008, where they obtained a degree in ABMGG Clinical Molecular Geneticist with a focus on Diagnostics Human Molecular Genetics. Dr. Morra is also an ABMGG-certified Clinical Molecular Geneticist, having obtained their certification from the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics in December 2009.
