Dzung Thach

Computational Biologist at Perthera

Dzung Thach has a long and varied work experience, beginning in 1994 as an Administrative Assistant for Resource Applications, Inc. In 1995, they took on the role of Information Facilitator at Virginia Tech. From 2001 to 2008, they worked as a Research Biologist and National Research Council Cooperative Research Associateship at the Naval Research Laboratory. In 2008, they moved to the National Institutes of Health, where they served as a Core Staff Scientist until 2013. Most recently, they have been employed as a Lab Informatics Engineer at Inova Health System since 2013, and currently holds the position of Computational Biologist at Perthera since 2019.

Dzung Thach began their educational journey in 1989 when they attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, graduating in 1992. Dzung then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from Virginia Tech between 1992 and 1996. Finally, they earned a Doctorate in Molecular Microbiology & Immunology from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health between 1997 and 2001.
