Samia Biri, PRINCE2

Samia Biri has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Samia started their career in 2002 as a Programme Associate at UNDP, where they participated in planning, coordination, and management of large-funded projects. Samia was responsible for issuing regular reports, developing relationships with national counterparts, and overseeing the annual audit exercise.

In 2009, Samia joined Microsoft and held various positions. As a Business Analytics & Sales Administrator, they supported the team in driving sales and operational performance. Their responsibilities included revenue forecasting, managing the opportunity pipeline, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Later, as a Citizenship & Academic Program Manager, they coordinated and aligned Microsoft's citizenship campaigns and programs, including partnerships with NGOs, entrepreneurs, and the academic community. Samia also led the creation and implementation of an IT solution platform for the Tunisian Red Crescent Organization.

In 2018, Samia worked at TD as an Administrative Support/Customer Service representative. Samia greeted clients and provided excellent customer service. Additionally, they created and implemented a reporting tool using Excel to facilitate the decision-making process for budget allocations.

Most recently, in 2019, Samia returned to Microsoft as a Group Administrator for Microsoft Research and later became a Business Program Manager for Microsoft Research AI Lab. In these roles, they managed day-to-day administrative issues, organized internal events, and facilitated meetings. Samia also reviewed business processes for optimization and handled procurement activities.

Currently, Samia is working as a Project Control Officer at Petal starting in 2023. Further details regarding this role were not provided. Throughout their career, Samia utilized their PRINCE2 certification to effectively manage projects and coordinate activities.

Samia Biri has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and International Relations from Faculté des Sciences Economiques et de Gestion de Tunis - Tunisia, which they completed from 1994 to 1998. In 2018 to 2019, they pursued a Specialized Graduate Diploma (DESS) in Project Management at UQAM | Université du Québec à Montréal. Samia has also obtained several certifications, including PRINCE2 Foundation from APM Group in April 2007, Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® from Project Management Institute in June 2023, and Cultivating Cultural Competence and Inclusion from LinkedIn in May 2022.
