Brian Howald

Brian Howald is an accomplished Engineering Manager at Petal, with a strong background in software engineering developed over several years. Since joining Petal in February 2019, Brian has advanced through roles including Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer. Prior experience includes a software engineering position at Lifebooker, where significant contributions were made to building APIs and maintaining a consumer mobile application. Earlier roles include internships at Work Market, New York City Transit, the Permanent Citizens Advisory Committee to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and the Office of Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, focusing on product requirements, user interface design, and analyzing transit systems. Brian holds both a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.A. in Urban Studies from Stanford University, earned between 2005 and 2010.
