Head Of Breast Cancer Risk And Prevention Lab at Peter Mac

Kara Britt has extensive experience in the field of cancer research and academia. Kara began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Institute of Cancer Research, where they focused on assessing the role of stem cells in breast cancer. Kara later joined Monash University as a Research Fellow, working there until 2012. Kara then took on the role of Adjunct Lecturer at Monash University's Department of Anatomy and Developmental Biology until 2017. In 2016, they became the Head of the Breast Cancer Risk and Prevention Lab at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Currently, they hold the position of Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne, starting in 2020.

Kara Britt obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Science from Monash University, completing their studies from 1995 to 1998. Kara continued their education at Monash University, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from 1999 to 2004. Following that, they joined The Institute of Cancer Research from 2005 to 2008 for a post-doctoral fellowship, focusing on Oncology and Cancer Biology. In July 2016, Kara Britt obtained a certification as a Lab Head from the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
