Software Engineer at Petpocketbook

Nate Thompson has worked as a Software Engineer for PetPocketbook since 2022. Prior to that, they were a Software Engineer at State Farm™ from 2018 to 2022, where they served as an Intern Mentor, coaching and mentoring up to three remote interns, and occasionally filling in for the Enterprise Technology manager of SFRDC. Nate also developed an easy to follow process for the interns and arranged weekly standup meetings. Additionally, they performed application build time experiments on MacOS and Windows workstations, replaced outdated applications with new Ember and React applications, and designed Ember and React components that complied with accessibility standards. From 2017 to 2018, Nate worked as a Software Engineer - Test Intern at Genesys, where they developed and maintained automated UI and API tests, modified API endpoints and applications, and deployed automated tests in Jenkins. From 2015 to 2017, they worked as a Developer/QA at the Software Research Center, where they maintained and improved projects, modified code to handle updates and improve performance, and manually tested and verified that websites and other web services would run and appear properly in all environments. Lastly, from 2014 to 2015, Nate worked as an ITS Student Technician at Anderson University, where they diagnosed and found solutions to hardware/software issues, performed software installations, and installed and/or repaired hardware.

Nate Thompson obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Anderson University in 2017. Nate also holds an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS), which they obtained in January 2021.
