Majid Akhavan

Majid Akhavan, MSc, PMP®, PMI-RMP, serves as a Senior/Lead Risk & Assurance Engineer at Petroleum Development Oman since September 2012, overseeing risk management for mega projects such as RHIP and YKP with substantial budgets totaling $7.6 billion. Responsibilities include developing and leading portfolio and project risk management strategies, providing high-quality risk management standards, and facilitating cross-functional risk workshops. Prior experience includes Project Planning & Control Lead roles at Petropars for South Pars Phase 12 & 19, and at SADRA for Reshadat and Khesht Projects, where effective leadership in project scheduling, cost control, and integrated project management systems was demonstrated. Additionally, tenure as Manager of Long-term Training Department at the Institute for Productivity & Human Resource Development and earlier roles at MAPNA Generator Engineering & Manufacturing Co highlight a comprehensive background in industrial engineering and project management.
