In 2000, they joined Best Buy and held various merchandising roles until 2004. James then transitioned to Target, where they took on multiple leadership positions, including Senior Planning Divisional Toys, Senior Director Merchandise Planning for Toys and Sporting Goods as well as Electronics and Entertainment, Merchandising Director for Home Video, and Merchandising Director for Food Service. In these roles, they demonstrated their ability to drive revenue growth, negotiate partnerships, and lead teams through organizational changes. More recently, in 2020, they joined PetSmart as the Vice President of Merchandising.
