Marcelo Maia has a diverse work experience that spans over multiple companies and roles. Marcelo started their career at Cypress Solutions Inc in 2005 with an international internship program. Marcelo then joined Carrefour in 2006 and held various positions including Manager, Coordinator, Analyst, and Trainee, Regional Logistics Manager, Logistics Manager, and finally, Supply Chain Manager. In 2013, Marcelo moved to Petz where they held several leadership roles including Logistics and Supply Chain Senior Manager, E-commerce, Supply Chain and Logistics Director, and ultimately Vice President of Digital, Marketing, IT, and Supply Chain. Marcelo's responsibilities at Petz included overseeing digital products, growth, supply chain, IT, omnichannel strategies, and digital commerce.

Marcelo Maia has a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, which they obtained in 2005. In 2006, they completed a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from Insper Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa and also received a Graduate Certificate in Retail Management from FIA - Fundação Instituto de Administração. In 2009, Marcelo obtained a Graduate Certificate in the US Retail Industry from Youngstown State University. Marcelo further pursued education at Insper Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa and earned a Master of Business Administration (Executive MBA) degree in 2013. Finally, in 2014, they attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they obtained a degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, known as GCLOG 2014.
