Inês Côrte-real de Portugal Fernandes is currently a Program Associate at the National Audubon Society, contributing expertise in policy and management of coastal resilience and nature-based tourism projects across the Americas, with a focus on the Latin America and Caribbean region. Previous experience includes roles as a Research Consultant/Policy Advisor at Conservation International, where Inês conducted stakeholder analyses and high-level policy memos for Indonesian climate initiatives, and as a Qualitative Research Consultant at Stanford University, where qualitative research tools and focus group strategies were developed. Earlier positions included a Graduate Research Assistant at The George Washington University, a Blue Economy intern at Deltares, and a Consular and Legal Affairs Officer at the Embassy of Portugal in Washington DC. Inês holds a Master of Arts in International Development Studies from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Laws from NOVA School of Law.
