Nasserie Carew

VP, Communications at The Pew Charitable Trusts

Nasserie Carew is vice president for communications at The Pew Charitable Trusts, leading Pew’s global programmatic communications to promote and advance the organization’s research and policy objectives.

Before joining Pew, Carew served as the U.S. Agency for Global Media’s first chief global communications officer, working with the agency’s five media networks to coordinate external, internal, and crisis communications on issues affecting the networks and the broader global media organization. Carew also worked at the U.S. Department of State as senior adviser to the assistant secretary of public affairs and directed communications in the State Department’s Ebola coordination unit. Her early communications experience includes serving as managing director of public affairs at the Millennium Challenge Corp and tenures at InterAction and YWCA USA.

Carew holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree from Howard University.
