Pavel Campr

Head Of Research at Pex

Pavel Campr has been working in the fields of computer vision, music information retrieval, high performance computing, big data and software engineering since 2003. Pavel started their career at pixlab.cz as an R&D (Computer Vision, Machine Learning) & Web Development. In 2005, they became a Research Fellow and Researcher & PhD Student at the University of West Bohemia. In 2006, they attended the SIMILAR Network of Excellence Summer Workshop on Multimodal Interfaces at eNTERFACE'06. Pavel continued to attend the Summer Workshop on Multimodal Interfaces at eNTERFACE'07, eNTERFACE'08, eNTERFACE'10 and eNTERFACE'11. In 2012, they became a Research Fellow at the Czech Technical University in Prague. In 2015, they joined Pex as a Research Engineer and was later promoted to Research & Engineering Director and Head Of Research. In these roles, they led research efforts in Pex and covered fields such as computer vision, music information retrieval, high performance computing, big data and software engineering with C++, Python and Go.

Pavel Campr attended the University of West Bohemia, Pilsen from 2000 to 2005, where they received an Ing. (master degree) in Cybernetics, Artificial Intelligence. Pavel then returned to the University of West Bohemia, Pilsen from 2005 to 2013, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cybernetics, Artificial Intelligence. In 2004, they also studied at the Technological Educational Institute of Crete.
