Hirohide Takahashi is a Senior Scientist at Pfizer since September 2023, specializing in the structural biology of membrane proteins using cryo-electron microscopy (cryoEM). Previously, from November 2018 to August 2023, Hirohide served as a Research Instructor at Vanderbilt University, focusing on purifying and characterizing the molecular structure of ion channels and receptors. Prior to this role, Hirohide completed two postdoctoral positions; first at Weill Cornell Medicine, exploring protein dynamics with high-speed force microscopy from January 2017 to November 2018, and second at INSERM from January 2014 to December 2016, where a temperature-controlled device for high-speed atomic force microscopy was developed. Hirohide's initial postdoctoral research took place at the University of Cambridge from January 2012 to December 2013, investigating the molecular structures of proteins involved in vesicle trafficking. Education includes a PhD in Life Science from Kyoto University and a BS in Biology and Geoscience from Shizuoka University.
