Richard W. Henson

Richard W. Henson has a diverse work experience in the medical device and biotech industries. Richard W. is currently the CEO and Co-Founder of ValVention, Inc., a clinical stage structural heart device development company. Richard W. has also co-founded and advised other companies such as PhageTech, Inc., a biosensor chip technology company, and NeorahDX, Inc., a company focused on developing faster and accurate methods to detect infectious diseases. Additionally, they have served as a Board Member and EVP for the Swiss American Chamber of Commerce Southern California.

Richard has also worked as a Strategic Business Advisor for DeviceLab Inc., a medical device design and development company, and as the Principal of RW Henson Advisors, LLC, where they worked with medical device startup companies on refining and executing winning business strategies.

In the past, Richard has held leadership positions in various organizations, including being the Co-Chairman of the OCTANe Foundation for Innovation, which focuses on advancing biomedical and information technology innovation and entrepreneurship. Richard W. was also a Member of the Dean's Leadership Council at UC Irvine School of Physical Sciences and the CEO Roundtable at UC Irvine.

Richard's expertise and experience span across business development, marketing, regulatory affairs, partnering, and manufacturing in the medical device and biotech sectors.

Richard W. Henson completed the iCorps Program at the National Institute of Health in 2017. Prior to that, they pursued an Executive Management degree in Business at the UCLA Anderson School of Management from 1996 to 1997.
