Herbert Ypma has extensive work experience in the field of travel publishing. Herbert has worked as an author, photographer, and art director for various companies such as Thames & Hudson, National Geographic, CONRAN OCTOPUS LIMITED, Phaidon, and Assouline Publishing. Ypma is known for their bestselling HIP Hotels series and has written and photographed numerous books on travel destinations including France, Italy, Morocco, Mexico, London, Paris, and more. Herbert has also worked as the founding editor and publisher of Interior Architecture Magazine, which gained international recognition and won multiple awards. Ypma's work focuses on showcasing unique and authentic travel experiences through visually stunning and informative publications.
Herbert Ypma began their education at Clarkstown South Senior High School, where they pursued a degree in Science from 1968 to 1972. After completing high school, they attended Adelaide International School (AIS) from 1974 to 1975, focusing on Political Science and Government for a Science degree. Finally, they enrolled at the University of Adelaide from 1975 to 1977, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies.
