Matt Osterhaus is a pharmacist at Osterhaus Pharmacy in Maquoketa, Iowa. He is a community pharmacist specializing in pharmaceutical care services, hospice, and home medical equipment. He also focuses on long-term care, quality assurance, consulting, and dispensing services to patients in presidential and nursing facilities and facilities for those with intellectual disabilities.
Previously, Matt was an APhA Trustee and served on the Finance and Government Affairs Committees. He was also a member of Outcomes Certified Pharmaceutical Care Network and continues efforts to advance community-based research in Iowa. Osterhaus served on the Iowa Medicaid Drug Utilization Review Commission, the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners, and the Iowa Medicaid Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. He is a Past President of the Iowa Pharmacy Association and the American Pharmacists Association. He served on the Pharmacist Mutual Insurance Company’s Board of Directors and Outcomes Pharmaceutical Healthcare’s Board of Governors.
Matt has been active in statewide initiatives through advocacy and volunteerism in campaigns, councils, steering committees, and boards. Matt has served as presidents of the Iowa Pharmacy Association and the American Pharmacists Association and received the State of Iowa Governor’s Volunteer Award. He is currently serving on the PQA board as a representative of the National Community Pharmacist Association.
