Philip Ferguson has a diverse work experience in the finance field. Philip began their career at Colgate Palmolive as a Supervisor General Accounting and Accounts Payable in 1988. Philip then worked as the Controller at NRI Industries from 1997 to 2001. From 2001 to 2007, they served as the Financial Controller at CIMTEK. In 2007, they joined Pharma Medica Research Inc. as the Director of Finance. Philip later held the position of Vice President, Operations and Finance at Athabasca University Graduate Students' Association from 2013 to 2014. Currently, they are the Treasurer at Ontario Graduate Students' Alliance.

Philip Ferguson has a strong educational background in business administration and accounting. Philip obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from the University of Toronto, where they studied from 1983 to 2001. After completing their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at Athabasca University. From 2002 to 2007, they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General. Following this, they continued their academic journey at Athabasca University, where they obtained a Doctor of Business Administration degree in Business Administration and Management, General from 2009 to 2015. Additionally, Philip holds the Certified General Accountant (CGA) certification, which was obtained in January 2001 from the Certified General Accountants of Ontario institution.
