Manager Hardware Engineering at Pharrowtech

Barend van Liempd has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. In their current role as the Manager of Hardware Engineering at Pharrowtech since April 2022, they oversee the hardware engineering department. Prior to this, they held various roles at imec, a research and innovation hub. From January 2021 to April 2022, they served as the R&D Manager for Neuromorphic Radar, leading research in this area. Before that, they were the Program Manager for Radar IC's from July 2018 to January 2021. Barend also worked as a Senior Researcher from April 2017 to June 2018, a PhD Researcher from October 2014 to March 2017, and an R&D Engineer from February 2011 to September 2014 at imec. During their time at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, they worked as a PhD Researcher from October 2014 to March 2017. Additionally, Barend had internships at TNO Information and Communication Technology from October 2009 to January 2010, and at the Analog VLSI Laboratory, Universidad de Concepcion from March 2009 to September 2009. Barend also served as a Student Representative SAO at Eindhoven University of Technology from January 2008 to March 2009. Finally, Barend worked as a Content Producer at Qelp from January 2007 to January 2009, where they were involved in creating online content.

In 2004, Barend van Liempd began their education at Eindhoven University of Technology, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Barend completed this program in 2009. Upon completion of their undergraduate studies, they went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the same institution, which they finished in 2011.

Afterwards, they enrolled at Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2014 to embark on a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Barend successfully completed this program in 2017.
