Venu Gopal K.

Senior Scientist at Phase Change Solutions

Venu Gopal K. has over 25 years of experience in the field of chemistry. Venu Gopal began their career in 1995 as a Junior Chemist at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories. In 1999, they moved to PENN BIO-CHEMICALS (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED as a Chemist, where they synthesized several small molecules, Boc protected, Cbz protected prolinol, (S)-(-)-a,a-Diphenyl-2-pyrrolidinemethanol and 2-(N,N-Bis(trifluromethyl-sulfonyl)-amino)pyridine, as well as substituted aryl and hetro arylboranic acids. In 2002, Venu Gopal K. began working at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as a Graduate Research Student and Graduate Teaching Assistant, where they developed Kumada and Sonogashira type coupling reactions to anthracene derivatives and 1-bromomethyl-3,5-di(4-cyanopyridylmethyl) benzene derivatives, as well as 5-(mercaptomethyl)benzene-1,3-dioic acid derivatives. In 2005, they moved to QuarTek Corporation as a Research Scientist, where they developed synthetic techniques for multi element composition of nanocomposites with magnetic, color, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties, and was involved in the synthesis of bio-compatible magnetic nanocomposites for use in the hyperthermia treatment of cancer. In 2013, Venu Gopal K. began working at Phase Change Energy Solutions, Inc. as a Senior Scientist, where they developed and optimized multi component bio-based organic PCMs or inorganic PCMs which are temperature specific and biodegradable, and characterized and modified bio-based Organic and inorganic PCM's based on Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and thermal conductivity measurements for energy efficiency applications. Venu Gopal also optimized Gel to Solid, Solid to Solid and liquid to Gel Phase transition of multi-component bio-based Organic PCMs and Inorganic PCMs from -70C to 180C.

Venu Gopal K. began their education in 1992 when they earned a Bachelor's degree in Physical Sciences from Osmania University. Venu Gopal then went on to earn a Master's degree in Organic Chemistry from the same university in 1996-1998. In 2002-2005, Venu Gopal K. earned a Master's degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
