Jared Schiffman

Jared Schiffman has been working in the education and technology fields since 2001. In 2001, they began working as a Math & Physics teacher at High Tech High in San Diego. In 2005, they founded and became a partner at Potion Design LLC, an interactive design and technology firm located in New York City. In 2008, they became an Adjunct Professor at NYU's ITP program, where they developed and taught two courses: Computational Form and Spatial Media. In 2010, they co-founded Popplet, an education app to create 'thought maps' for students K-6 on the iPad and online. In 2012, they founded and became the CTO of Perch Interactive, Inc, a retail technology startup intent on transforming the way products are marketed and sold in stores. Finally, in 2021, they founded and became the CEO of Phenomena, a marketplace for experiential learning.

Jared Schiffman attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1995 to 1999, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science & Engineering. Jared then returned to Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1999 to 2001, where they earned a Master of Science in Media Arts & Sciences.
