Amanda Hanson has a wide range of work experience in the scientific field. Amanda began their career in 2011 as a Research Assistant at Boston University School of Medicine where they were involved in planning and carrying out experiments related to a project studying the effects of high nutrient environment on mitochondrial dysfunction in pancreatic beta-cells. Amanda also had knowledge of various laboratory techniques such as general cell culture, transfections, and basic molecular and DNA preparations. In 2013, they moved to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a Research Technician where they were involved in daily research activities, including working with primary human tissues, isolation of hematopoietic stem cells, and avian influenza work. In addition, they were responsible for lab managerial duties such as being the MIT Environmental Health and Safety representative and handling all vendor interactions. In 2015, they joined Jounce Therapeutics, Inc. as an Associate Scientist, and worked their way up to Senior Associate Scientist. Finally, in 2021, they moved to Phenomic as a Scientist.

Amanda Hanson attended Boston University from 2009 to 2013 and earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Neurobiology and Neurosciences.
