Iain Munro

Union Juniors and Youth Academy: founding member of coaching team at Philadelphia Union

Iain Munro has extensive work experience in the sports industry. Starting with Dundee FC in 1991, they held the role of Manager before moving on to become the Manager of Hamilton Academicals FC from 1992 to 1997. Munro then became the Scottish Premier League Manager for Raith Rovers FC in 1997. In 1998, they joined Ayr United FC as an Assistant Manager until 2002. Munro also worked as a Sportswriter/TV/radio guest commentator for Scottish Media from 1990 to 2003 before earning their UEFA Pro Licence as a Soccer Coach in 1998. Between 2006 and 2009, they worked as the Technical Director of RSL Florida. In 2009, Munro then became the Academy Director of YSC Sports. Iain later joined Philadelphia Union, where they served as a founding member of the coaching team for the Union Juniors and Youth Academy in 2010. In 2013, Munro briefly worked as a co-commentator for Philadelphia Union TV.

Iain Munro attended Uddingston Grammar School from 1963 to 1969, where they completed their high school education. Following this, they enrolled at Jordanhill P.E. College from 1969 to 1973 and earned a degree in Physical Education Teaching and Coaching.
