Alex Cherny

Alex Cherny is an experienced professional currently serving as the Illicit Trade Prevention Operations Manager at Philip Morris International since September 2021. In this role, Alex leads online strategy development for the Illicit Trade Prevention group and enhances central brand protection capabilities while generating insights on global illicit trade incidents. Prior to this, Alex completed an MBA with Distinction at the University of Warwick's Warwick Business School and held an internship with Coursera focusing on growth strategy for EMEA markets. Alex's earlier experience includes over a decade at BSA | The Software Alliance, where responsibilities ranged from Senior Program Manager for compliance in EMEA to Country Manager for Russia, emphasizing anti-piracy operations and strengthening intellectual property rights. Alex also holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the Higher School of Economics.
