Dr Usmaan Omer

Dr. Usmaan Omer is a Research Associate and Editorial Consultant in Medical Education at Hull York Medical School, where involvement includes research-related activities and serving as an Honorary Research Fellow since July 2023. Additionally, Dr. Omer has been marking assignments and supervising Master's dissertations as an Examiner for the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER) since July 2020. Prior experience includes a role as a Medical Writer and Systematic Reviewer at Putnam, where Dr. Omer developed evidence bases for new therapies and conducted literature searches. As a Postdoctoral Research Associate at The University of Manchester, research focused on Global Health Partnerships and Competency-Based Education in Bangladesh. Dr. Omer also served as a Police Recruit Assessor during the pandemic, leveraging skills obtained during a PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of York, along with previous degrees in Medical Education and Biomedical Sciences from Durham University.
