Kimberly Kurtis

Kimberly Kurtis currently serves as the Associate Dean for Faculty Development & Scholarship at the Georgia Institute of Technology's College of Engineering, a position held since January 1999. In this role, responsibilities include managing tenure track faculty promotion and reappointment processes, supporting faculty development, and facilitating engagement in research and educational initiatives. Additionally, Kimberly holds titles as a Professor (by courtesy) in the School of Materials Science and Engineering and the Raymond Allen Jones Chair Professor in the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering, alongside positions such as Interim Chair and ADVANCE Professor. With a robust background in infrastructure material characterization and performance, Kimberly has advised over 30 theses and has been actively involved in various boards and committees across academia and industry, including roles with PHNX Materials and Elsevier. Educational credentials include a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BSE in Civil Engineering from Tulane University.
