David Osuna is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UCL since February 2021, focusing on understanding the relationship between smoking, lung cancer development, and the impact of smoking cessation, under the supervision of Sam Janes and funded by CRUK. Prior to this role, David worked as a Laboratory Demonstrator at Barts Cancer Institute, where responsibilities included teaching molecular biology techniques, and also completed a PhD at Queen Mary University of London, developing a 3D culture platform for studying cancer stem and stromal cells. Additional experience includes an internship at Cancer Research UK, managing workshops on early cancer detection, and a research role at UCL School of Pharmacy, where the focus was on enhancing drug delivery using nanoencapsulation. David holds a BSc in Molecular Biology from UCL and has a solid educational foundation in science and technology.
