Katie Penson has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Katie is currently a Member at Chief, a private network focused on empowering women executives. Previously, they served as the Vice President of Critical Care Services at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Prior to that, Katie held multiple roles at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, including Senior Director of Clinical Services - Critical Care and Emergency Services, Director of Access and System Support, and Patient Care Manager. Katie also worked as a Nursing Supervisor and Registered Nurse at Childrens Hospitals and Clinics of MN. Earlier in their career, Katie worked as a Clinical Operations Analyst at Ingenix.

Katie Penson has a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Health Care from the University of St. Thomas - Opus College of Business, which they obtained from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of St. Thomas, studying from 1993 to 1998. Katie also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from The College of St. Scholastica. In 2017, they obtained the Nurse Executive - Advanced Board Certification (NEA-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
