Christa Severns is an experienced communications and public relations professional with a diverse background spanning over two decades. Currently serving as the Communications Director for Phoenix IDA since August 2018, Christa previously owned Christa Severns Communications, a public relations and public affairs firm, from January 2013 to July 2018. Additional roles include a member of the Board of Directors for the Phoenix Industrial Development Authority, and Vice President on the Board of Directors for the Cancer Treatment Centers of America®. Prior positions feature the practice development director at Fennemore Craig, director of communications at SCF Arizona, and manager of policy and communications at the Arizona Department of Gaming. Christa's career began as vice president at Grossfeld Severns, Inc., following a tenure as district director for Congressman Sam Coppersmith. Christa Severns holds a BA in American Studies from Scripps College.

The Phoenix IDA is an entrepreneurial nonprofit that draws upon its decades of experience and proven record of accomplishments to support community and economic development through access to capital. The Phoenix IDA improves our community through multiple strategies such as bond financing, nonprofit and small business loans, and down payment assistance to advance homeownership. The organization’s primary goal is to positively impact vulnerable populations and underserved communities.
