Lewis Wei Liu has an extensive work experience spanning several industries and roles. Lewis Wei started their career as a Teaching Staff at Beijing University of Technology and then worked as the MIS Manager at YES Network, where they developed and managed CRM systems. Lewis also held various positions at Philips Lighting, including General Manager for the Asia Pacific Business Unit and Plant Manager. Lewis Wei then served as the Executive Vice President at Ascension Capital Group, focusing on M&A opportunities in the automotive supply base. Lewis also worked at KPMG China as the Director for their automotive advisory practice. Prior to their current positions as the SVP of Operations and SVP of Vehicle Program Management & BD at Phoenix Motorcars and EdisonFuture, respectively, Lewis was the Head of Strategic Partnership & Business Development at Faraday Future. Their work in this role involved establishing frameworks and processes for business development and strategic partnerships.
Lewis Wei Liu has a diverse education history. Lewis Wei obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Beijing University of Technology in 1984. Lewis Wei then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Mississippi, which they completed in 1987.
In 1999, Lewis attended the University of Chicago, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance.
From 2000 to 2001, they attended the Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, completing an Executive Program in Global Supply Chain Management.
Lewis furthered their education at Peking University, where they pursued a Master Program in Private Equity Fund Management from 2007 to 2009.
Currently, Lewis is pursuing a PhD in Automotive Engineering from Tsinghua University, which they started in 2012 and is expected to complete in 2023.
Alongside their formal education, Lewis has also acquired several certifications, including: Certificate of NEA Automotive Supplier Management from Daimler Chrysler in 2007, National Top Ranked Certified Photographer from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China in 2006, Certified Business Excellence Assessor and Certified EFQM from Philips Lighting in 2003, and Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) from the APICS Supply Chain Council in 1997.
